Advanced Open Water
The Advanced Open Water Diver course is the continuation of the Open Water Diver course, so you must already be certified as an Open Water Diver (or equivalent) to enter the course.
It is recommended to complete the E-Learning in advance, which we will provide for you upon starting the course.
This course allows you to experience a variety of different dives, two of which are required by standard:
Underwater Navigation Dive – You will learn how to navigate both underwater and on the surface, practicing natural navigation techniques and using a compass.
Deep Dive – You may dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet), where you will learn how to properly plan and conduct a deep dive, always accompanied by an instructor.
In addition, the AOW course requires three Adventure Dives, which are flexible according to your interests and the skills you would like to develop. You can choose from the following options:
Night Dive (boat or shore)
Experience the marine world during its most mysterious phase — nighttime. You will learn about specialized equipment and receive the proper instruction to safely enjoy this incredible experience.Wreck Dive
We visit the Felipe Xicoténcatl, better known as the C-53, a wreck with incredible visibility and abundant marine life. You may even see the tourist submarine that visits the site in the mornings.Drift Dive
For those seeking adventure and the feeling of flying, we explore Cozumel’s reef walls with fantastic drift dives. These sites are rich in marine life, where you may encounter larger species such as sharks, eagle rays (November–February), sea turtles, and much more.Peak Performance Buoyancy (PPB)
A specialized dive focused on refining essential advanced diving skills. Ideal for divers who want to improve body positioning, finning techniques, weighting, air consumption, equipment control, and overall buoyancy.Fish Identification (Fish ID)
A fun and educational dive focused on learning about marine life and reef ecosystems, helping you identify and categorize fish into their main families and marine classifications.Search and Recovery
Learn how to safely locate and recover objects underwater using lift bags and proper recovery techniques.
